As an effort to challenge myself and to keep my creative sense alive I started doing the DailyUI challenge. In essence, you get one design prompt a day to create. I saw this as an opportunity to try out different styles and as a way to experiment.
I had set a list of personal rules while doing this challenge. The first was to not spend more than 25 minutes on a single design. The second was to create everything from scratch. That means icons, text and so forth. And the last one was to go from start to finish in a single program, i.e. Photoshop or Illustrator etc.
Keeping it up every day was a bit of a challenge, especially trying to stray from just going with the familiar. And while I didn’t finish all 100 days due to work, I did accomplish at least 45 days of pure design.
If I ever get the chance to, I would definitely give it another go. These days, anything I manage to create on my spare time ends up over on my Dribbble account. Give it a visit!
