DailyUI 036 – Special Offer

Who doesn’t like special offers? Especially free stuff, and that’s the theme of the day. Since I had very limited time to create this one I had to come up and make something quickly. And the very first thing that popped into my mind was movies.

This one takes heavy inspiration from the Google Play store because it’s a style I’m comfortable with using and something I enjoy making as well. It took a bit too much inspiration though so it doesn’t really feel like my own design, but with time constraints it’s a good concession. Most of the focus was put on the illustration here. Some popcorn and a roll of film. If I had more time I would have put some sweets in the background and a TV or something in the background.

Again I used the grainy shading style here. Works well on the main illustrations, but it became a bit too much when placed on the background. Especially with the long shadow. But the shadow itself adds more depth to the illustrations so they don’t just feel like they’re floating on nothing.

To stick with the Google-y theme I went with Roboto through and through for the font. Other than that there’s not much to say here.
