DailyUI 032 – Crowdfunding Campaign

Another fairly uninspired design. Because I needed to double check what kind of information a crowdfunding campaign needs, I think I got too stuck in looking at what others did that I kind of lost my way while making it. In the end I wound up with something I’m neither happy of, nor think represents me.

With that out of the way, here’s the thought process.

I wanted something simple, with most information easily accessed. A big image showing the product with the name and short description covering it. Up in the right hand corner there’s a share button. Separating the image from the rest of the content is the pledged meter, how much money has been pledged so far. It became jarringly out of place here since it looked way different at first. Since I was trimming it down a lot, I let it hang outside and rounded the corners. Could have used more work.

Beneath that we have the most important information. How much the ultimate goal is, how much time is remaining and how many backers the project has. And then of course a big button for backing the project.

I don’t have a lot more to say here. If this was a real page I would have done pretty much everything different. Use more visual aids maybe. Or even have the information mounted to the right side of the image. Colours could also have been better thought out. In any case, this one is disappointing and not well thought out. Can’t win them all.
