DailyUI 026 – Subscribe

Subscribing to something has never been a particularly sexy subject, so making it appealing is a difficult prospect. I didn’t want to do a standard pop-up window with a simple text, but at the same time I had a hard time seeing any other way of how it could be.

So in that sense, I went in an even simpler direction. Greyscale illustration of a letter being opened with an enclosed document peeking out. Simple single coloured background with an easy radial gradient to give it a slight shine in the middle. Text was supposed to be simple but provocative, urging users in a casual way to subscribe for more information and updates.

The reason I went with greyscale wasn’t as much as a decision made on style, but a decision partly made on my personal mental state and partly because I didn’t know what colours to pick that would fit this style. The rest fell into place with the simplicity I wanted to achieve. It’s not anything wow by any means, but it’s simple and it works.
